Michi System is created by Matt Russe, who owns and operates three escape room venues across the South West of England. Every feature exists because it solved a real problem in a real venue — not because it looked good on a spec sheet.

What is Michi System? +
Michi System is a complete escape room management platform built in the UK. It includes a Game Master control centre with AI-powered clues and text-to-speech, an online booking engine with Stripe payments, automated staff scheduling that generates shifts from bookings, and a branded end-of-game photo system. All four products connect seamlessly via MQTT messaging so data flows automatically from booking to staffing to game to photo.
How much does escape room software cost? +
Michi costs £40 per month for the full platform — that includes the Game Master clue system for your first room, online bookings (Michi Book), staff scheduling (Michi Staff), and branded photos (Michi Snap). Additional rooms are a small per-room add-on. We offer a two-month free trial with no commitment and no card details required. That's typically less than what most escape rooms pay for separate booking, scheduling, and clue systems combined.
Can Michi replace Resova or BookingKit? +
Yes. Michi Book is a full escape room booking engine with real-time availability, Stripe payments (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay), gift vouchers, discount codes, digital waivers, abandoned cart recovery, automated emails, and a customer self-service portal. We can import your existing data from Resova, BookingKit, or other platforms, and you can run both systems in parallel during the trial.
Does Michi control Philips Hue lighting and MQTT props? +
Yes. The Game Master control centre has built-in Philips Hue integration with scene sequences, and controls physical props and maglocks over MQTT. You can link lighting effects to sound triggers, automate changes based on game events, and use the visual automation engine to set rules like "when this sensor fires, change the lights and play this sound" — no code required.
What makes Michi's clue system different? +
Michi uses AI to rewrite hints on the fly in whatever character voice you choose, then speaks them aloud via text-to-speech with triple-provider fallback (ElevenLabs, Edge TTS, pyttsx3) so clues never fail — even if the internet drops. It tracks parallel puzzle tracks, auto-dispatches timed hints when teams get stuck, and includes a visual automation engine for linking sensors, sounds, lights, and clues together.
How does automated staff scheduling work? +
Michi Staff syncs bookings from Michi Book and auto-generates Game Master and reception shifts with setup and cleanup buffer times. Staff are auto-assigned based on roles and availability. They clock in and out on their phones with GPS, can claim open shifts, and manage their own availability and time off. If nobody is available for a time slot, the booking system automatically blocks it.
